Dear Families-
Spring is finally on its way with warmer temperatures and we have new and exciting things to announce:
I am excited to kick off our new website! I hope that you find it informative and easy to navigate. If you have any feedback please feel free to share it with me. The teacher and parent testimonials are a new component to our website if you would be willing to contribute a testimonial we would love to add it. Our blogging area is new too! Watch as we post informative blogs on child development, new trends in children’s toys and exciting events that we will be hosting!
We are waiting for our NAEYC validators to come to validate that we meet all of the criteria needed to meet their high-quality standards. This is our fourth accreditation and it is done every five years. We are being assessed in the areas of Relationships, Curriculum, Teaching, Assessment of Children’s Progress, Health, Teacher’s Educational Qualifications, Family Collaboration, Community Relationships, Physical Environment and Leadership/Management. Each classroom had to put together a portfolio documenting in words and pictures how they met the required criteria. Administration also completed a portfolio documenting how it’s required criteria were met. The validators will be here for at least two days assessing the portfolios and observing criteria that could not be documented. We will keep you updated as to when they schedule their visit. We will receive a three-week window and a call the night before they come!
We will keep you aware of new things as they unfold this summer…
It is my pleasure to be able to provide you with the quality program you have come to expect and I want to take this time to thank you for being a part of our Glendale Heights family. I would like to leave you with something one of our Raccoon’s said after watching the Pauv Pheej Txuj Ci (Hmong) dancers this week- “They painted rainbows with their arms” what a beautiful feeling to have had. It will be a memory she will carry with her and that’s what we are all about- creating memories for your child that will last a lifetime.
